He has also written for the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Reader’s Digest, New Republic, Washington Post, Washington Times, and Newsweek.

Mr. Bovard is the author of eight books: The Bush Betrayal, Lost Rights: The Destruction of American Liberty, Terrorism and Tyranny, The Fair Trade Fraud, The Farm Fiasco, Shakedown: How the State Screws You from A to Z, Freedom in Chains: The Rise of the State & The Demise of the Citizen, and Feeling Your Pain: The Explosion and Abuse of Power under Clinton-Gore, most of which can be purchased at Laissez-Faire Books and Amazon.com.

He was the 1995 co-recipient of the Thomas Szasz Award for Civil Liberties work, awarded by the Center for Independent Thought, and the recipient of the 1996 Freedom Fund Award from the Firearms Civil Rights Defense Fund of the National Rifle Association. His book Lost Rights received the Mencken Award as Book of the Year from the Free Press Association; while his work Terrorism and Tyranny/cite> won Laissez Faire Book’s Lysander Spooner award for the Best Book on Liberty of 2003.

During the Clinton administration, Mr. Bovard’s writings were publicly denounced by FBI Director Louis Freeh, HUD director Henry Cisneros, Commerce Secretary Ron Brown, Agriculture Secretary Dan Glickman, the White House AIDS czar, former IRS commissioner Shirley Peterson, and the chiefs of the U.S. International Trade Commission, Equal Opportunity Commission, Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency. The National Treasury Employees Union and the American Postal Workers Union have also added their condemnations.

A Wall Street Journal review of Freedom in Chains declared: “James Bovard has become the roving inspector general of the modern State… Never has so much theoretical error and concrete folly been collected and juxtaposed so well under a single cover. Mr. Bovard consistently illuminates the connection between faulty political ideals and specific policy disasters.” The Orlando Sentinel wrote: “James Bovard, the American government’s most unfavorite journalist, has done all who value liberty a great service. He has meticulously documented freedom’s demise in America and set it all in its proper philosophical framework. National Review declared: “Freedom in Chains… offers a principled and often eloquent vision of the minimalist state. There is an integrity to it, and it is always refreshing to find a man who takes his freedom straight.” The Orange County Register labeled the book “a modern-day libertarian classic.”

Mr. Bovard’s 1994 book, Lost Rights, continues to stir controversy. The Wall Street Journal said of the book: “Remarkable… astonishingly broad… excellent… Mr. Bovard’s unrivaled research has resulted in a virtual encyclopedia of modern government abuse.”

Mr. Bovard has been a regular contributor to FFF’s monthly journal, Freedom Daily, since 1996 and has delivered lectures at many FFF events.

Marshall Fritz Marshall-Fritz

Marshall Fritz is President of the Alliance for the Separation of School & State in Fresno, California, a tax-exempt educational organization he founded in 1994 to promote “Honest Education.”

Marshall is a leading spokesman in explaining how ending state, federal, and local government involvement in K-12 schools can improve education for all children, strengthen the family, and even lead to a turnaround of our collapsing society.

Prior to founding the Alliance in 1994, Marshall was president of the unaccredited Pioneer Christian Academy. His ideas for high quality education were so advanced that his school received endorsements of educators from William Glasser to Nobel Laureate Milton Friedman to New York State Teacher of the Year John Taylor Gatto.

Marshall has been published in the Wall Street Journal, Educational Leadership, Current Thoughts and Trends, and Family Voice. He is the publisher of The Education Liberator, The School Liberator, and the lead author of the “Proclamation for the Separation of School and State.”

More than 28,800 individuals have endorsed the Proclamation. P,rominent signers range from Mr. Tom Monaghan, founder of Domino’s Pizza to Prof. Thomas Szasz, author of “The Myth of Mental Illness;” educators from John Taylor Gatto to Mary Pride; and religious leaders from D. James Kennedy and Tim LaHaye to Rabbi Daniel Lapin and the late Fr. John A. Hardon, S.J. — and even entertainers Penn & Teller!

The idea to liberate schools from government involvement is a radical concept that is moving into the mainstream, specialty, and electronic press, including the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Los Angeles Daily News, Detroit News, Dallas Morning News, Financial Times of London, Human Events, Conservative Chronicles, Practical Homeschooling, Christianity Today, WorldNetDaily.com, and FoxNews.com, and has received editorial endorsement from the Orange County Register and World magazine.

Prior to his work in K-12 education, Marshall was the founder of the Advocates for Self-Government, an educational organization that teaches Americans who ardently love liberty how to express their views positively. Marshall began his career with IBM in computer sales, education, and design.

He has been active in Christian Businessmen’s Committee, Serra Club (not Sierra), Toastmasters, and Overeaters Anonymous. He has also coached and refereed youth soccer and worked as a volunteer in a homeless shelter.

Marshall was born in California in 1943 and earned a B.A. from California State University Fullerton in 1964. He lives in Fresno, California with his wife of 39 years, Joan. They have four grown children and ten grandchildren. You can reach Marshall at (559) 499-1776 or Marshall@HonestEdu.org.

dr_steven_greerDr. Steven Greer, M.D.

In 1993, Dr. Greer started an effort designed to identify firsthand military and government witnesses to UFO events and projects, as well as other evidence to be used in a public disclosure. The Disclosure Project is a nonprofit research project working to fully disclose the facts about UFOs, extraterrestrial intelligence, and classified advanced energy and propulsion systems. Their “Witness Archives” contain over 400 government, military, and intelligence community witnesses testifying to their direct, personal, first hand experience with UFOs, ETs, ET technology, and the cover-up that keeps this information secret.

Dr. Greer spent considerable time and resources briefing the Clinton Administration, including CIA Director James Woolsey, senior military officials at the Pentagon, and select members of Congress, among others. In April of 1997, more than a dozen such government and military witnesses were assembled in Washington DC for briefings with Congressmen, Pentagon officials and others. Despite requests for open Congressional Hearings on the subject, none were forthcoming.

In 1998, Dr. Greer set out to “privatize” the disclosure process by raising the funds to videotape, edit, and organize over 100 military and government witnesses to UFO events and projects in broadcast quality digital video format. The edited testimony will also be appearing in book form.

Dr. Brian Wowk

Dr. Brian Wowk is a Senior Scientist at 21st Century Medicine, Inc., a company developing technology for long-term preservation of transplantable tissues and organs. He obtained his B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees in physics from the University of Manitoba, in Winnipeg, Canada. His graduate studies included research in radiation oncology and functional magnetic resonance imaging of the brain (fMRI), the latter conducted at the National Research Council of Canada. He left the field of medical physics to work in cryobiology, and is the discoverer of the first synthetic molecules (“ice blockers”) that prevent ice formation in cryopreservation solutions by mechanisms similar to antifreeze proteins.

Topic: Suspended Animation, long a staple of science fiction, would have profound implications for medicine were it ever to become reality. A new ice free preservation method called “vitrification” allows for simple tissues and organs to be suspended in time indefinitely until needed for transplant. The same technique can be used to preserve large masses of tissue with remarkable structural fidelity, leading some to speculate that suspended animation may already be a solved problem if allowances for future technology are made to reverse the process.
